The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (QCF) is a new qualification which replaces the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (QCF).

The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (QCF) is suitable for teachers, trainers and tutors working in further education, adult and community learning or work-based training within public, private, voluntary or community organisations. It prepares trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts and requires observation and assessment of practice. Teaching practice is a requirement of the qualification.

It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, including:

  •  Planning and developing schemes of work
  •  Delivering learning sessions
  •  Developing teaching and learning strategies
  •  Assessment practices

A range of optional units are available, including some units from the Learning and Development suite. These
units require practice to be assessed.
The purpose of the qualification in the QCF is to ‘Confirm competence in an occupational role to the standards required’ (D1).
Learners must be willing to undertake an initial assessment of their skills in English, mathematics and ICT, record their development needs and follow an action plan.
Some units from the Learning and Development suite may be achieved within this qualification. These units require practice to be assessed in the trainee teacher’s place of work. Further details can be found in the ‘structure of the qualification’ section.

WHO IS IT FOR ?

The purpose of the TQUK Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service is to develop the knowledge and competencies required for high level customer service skills: improving customer service delivery and satisfaction, team leading, attracting new customers , improving customer loyalty, gathering and analysing customer feedback, processing complaints and maintaining reliable customer service. Learners will need access to a workplace in order to satisfy the competence requirements but this could be employed or voluntary.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS QUALIFICATION ?

The qualification develops knowledge and skills through mandatory units and a range of optional units. The mandatory units cover how to organise and deliver customer service, resolve customers’ problems and manage personal and professional development underpinned by knowledge to develop understanding of the customer service environment, principles of business and customers and customer retention. The optional units cover a wide range of topics including resolving customer complaints, using partnerships, customer feedback, communication skills, using social media and managing and developing teams.

Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration (QCF)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Management (QCF)
  • Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Customer Service (QCF)
  • Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Management (QCF)
  • Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration (QCF)
  • Advanced or Higher Level Apprenticeship in Contact Centre Management, Business & Professional Administration or Leadership & Management
  • Foundation Degrees in Contact Centre Management , Retail Management, Business Management or Hospitality
  • Customer Service, Contact Centres, Sales, Business related and other undergraduate programmes

Or into job roles such as senior customer service supervisor, customer service manager, and a range of other senior customer service related roles.

STRUCTURE

Learners must achieve a minimum of 55 credits: 31 credits from Mandatory Group A and a minimum of 15 credits from Optional Group B. A maximum of 9 credits can come from Optional Group C.
