The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice and Guidance (QCF) develops the skills, knowledge and understanding to work in advice and guidance.
The qualification develops competence therefore you need to be in voluntary or paid work in the sector in order for assessment to take place.
There are no specific entry requirements however you should have a minimum of Level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and be able to work at level 3 or above. What is included in the qualification?

TYPE OF ASSESSMENT
This qualification is assessed through activities which are developed by the centre, internally marked and sampled as part of quality assurance/ internal verification procedures.

WHAT COULD THE QUALIFICATION LEAD TO
The qualification is supported by centres, Skills for Justice as the interim Sector Skills Council for the Learning & Development sector and employers.
Portfolio of evidence which includes observation of workplace.
You must achieve a minimum of 37 credits:17 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 20 credits from the optional units. At least 19 credits must be at level 4 or above.
- Mandatory Units – 17 credits must be achieved from this Unit;
- Optional Units – 20 credits must be achieved from this Unit; and
- At least 19 credits must be achieved from level 4 or above.

The mandatory units cover: interacting with clients, legislation and procedures, operating within networks, managing personal case load and evaluating and developing their own contribution to the service. There is also a range of optional units which will allow you to develop your skills in a range of areas chosen to suit your personal development and the needs of your job role.
